We need to prepare drivers to deal with situations where they have little or no experience such as

• driving on motorways

• sudden access to a more powerful car

• driving at night and in bad weather.

The UK Pass Plus system includes many of these training opportunities, but while it remains voluntary it will have limited effect.

Learn and Live does not want learner drivers on motorways as the pass rate is so low and examiners already have to take control to avoid crashes.
